Thinking differently isn’t a personality quirk. It’s a skill.
And it might be the only thing that’s ever actually changed anything for the better. Fred Hubler puts that idea on stage — the case against the standard playbook, told in stories your audience will still be repeating on the drive home.

The Big Idea
Every idea that changed the world was first called crazy.
Copernicus said the Earth wasn’t the center of the universe, and was dismissed for it — until he wasn’t. The Wright brothers were told they were wasting their time chasing flight — until they weren’t. The first people to trust a low-cost index fund over a stock picker were told they were settling for average — and most of them ended up ahead of the people who didn’t.
The through-line isn’t genius. It’s a willingness to test what everyone else assumed was already settled. That’s the talk.
“Following the herd feels safe. It has never once been proven safe.”
Fred Hubler
The Story
He didn’t come from money.
Fred walked away from the traditional Wall Street model because the math behind it stopped making sense to him — commissions, products to push, accounts to move. So he built something that ran on the opposite assumption: that the strategies reserved for a very small room should be available to far more people.
That decision looked reckless from the outside. It is the entire reason the last two decades worked. On stage, he tells it as the turning point — not to impress a room, but because most people in it are sitting on a version of the same choice.
His self-deprecating delivery gets crowds laughing while they take notes. Audiences ask him back because he tailors every talk to who’s actually in the room.
The Framework
Four beliefs that separate contrarians from the crowd.
01
“Normal” is usually just untested.
The standard playbook didn't get validated. It got repeated. Most of what a room calls safe has never once been checked against the numbers.
02
Contrarian thinking is a skill, not a personality.
It can be taught, practiced and installed in a team — which means an organization can decide to get better at it, on purpose.
03
The crowd is a data point, not an answer.
Consensus tells you what people believe. It tells you nothing about whether they're right. Fred teaches audiences to tell those two apart fast.
04
The team that got you here won't get you there.
Every level of growth retires an assumption. The discipline is noticing which one, before the market notices for you.
